Hair color that slays!

Hello, my beautiful readers,

I am super excited to share what I have done with my hair recently.  I’ve been a partial highlight or global hair color kinda gal for the past million years. I went blonde once and almost immediately regretted it. I missed my brunette! Brunette is MY COLOR. Everyone has their own that goes well with their skin tone and eye color, right?

Since my minimal heydays as a brown, I’ve stayed somewhere on the warm brown to nearly brunette kinda scale. But you know what got to me recently? The hashtag YOLO. So cliched and overrated. But it works, really!

I’m dead serious.

And I was like, you know what? It’s time to spice things up around here ya forever brown wearing, brown eyeshadow, nude lips loving, boring person. So I decided to go a little different and settle for an “unnatural” look this time. It was a bit of a process but my stylist made it feel like a cake walk!

I mean, it is my hair after all. I’d like it to look nice. Aren’t bad hair days enough to spoil your mood already?

My stylist suggested balayage highlights and I wanted a LOT of colors this time, so we got best of both worlds. Because I had been coloring for so long, my hair looked mostly one color of brown, so our goal was to add depth from the inside out, leaving my root area and “outer most” sections of hair last for the brightening. Personally, I wanted to experiment with different shades this time. So, she added more slices of lowlights – browns, caramels, beige, gold, strawberry red mixed with violet,  through the middle sections of my hair. A lot of foils with every 5th one being the same extending them fully to make them appear as natural as possible. Wohoooooo – I was so excited and looking forward to it.

Single-tone locks don’t surprise anyone today. While highlights, ombre and color blocks are another story. They refresh and update your hair color, add depth and texture to your hairstyle, endowing your overall look with a sexy, glamorous flair. Playing with hair hues is fun if you trust the job to a professional. Once you have made a decision to add some color, go visit a salon and stylist that understands your hair structure. This is the most crucial part of the process

I chose the Honey Lulla Salon, Mumbai.

Nestling in a quiet spot in Khar, just off Linking Road is HONEY LULLA Hair Salon, Makeup Lounge, Academy. A delightful space that invites you in with its contemporary, yet charming interiors and the genuine warmth of all who work there. The salon offers its customers a rich bouquet of services all kinds of hair styling, makeup services, manicures, pedicures and a host of other grooming services. But there is a lot that sets this establishment apart from and a cut above the rest. The salon is run by stylist, Honey Lulla, in partnership with Bharti Gehani. The duo share a lot in common – challenging life journeys, unbreakable spirits and the driving passion to make a difference. Honey brings her experience of 16 years in the hairstyling and makeup industry to offer the clientele truly transformational services, while Bharti uses her expertise in the Public Relations industry to make sure the business runs seamlessly. They are so accommodating with appointments even when they keep extremely swamped. And are very responsive to those texts and calls. In short, you can walk in here with 100 % confidence and know you’re going to walk out with something special, something you will remember for a long time!

As expected, the hair color turned out to be fabulous. Something totally different from what I always had. It didn’t take me time to cope with it. A lot of people around me complimented me for it. And I am ecstatic to be sharing this with you today. We have also put together a short video to walk you through what we have done. And Honey, my stylist would be telling you more about what she’s done. Here it is –

Hope you enjoyed reading! For any questions, please holler! Thanks for giving me the time to read.

That looks amazing. I am naturally a dark blonde/ light brown now but was a blonde child. I’ve tried dark brown, bright red and light blonde. I don’t feel right unless I’m blonde so I am back to blonde now.
